If you are like me, you have a large family. In my own household, there are 5 of us. Then you add my nephew in, and that makes 6. What do you do for a resort room? Do you get two connecting rooms? That seems expensive, depending on where you want to stay. I bet you didn't know that Disney has resorts that can accommodate 5 or more.
2 Disney resorts offer a room with a 5th sleeper. These rooms offer 2 Queen Beds and a Child-size pulldown. From what my son says, they are very comfortable to sleep on. A small adult could probably sleep on this. There are 2 Moderate resorts that have these rooms. You can find them at Disney's Caribean Beach Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Riverside.
Some Deluxe resorts offer rooms for 5. These rooms offer 2 Queen beds and a Day bed. These can be found at Disney's Beach and Yacht Club, Disney's Contemporary, Disney's Boardwalk Inn, Disney's Polynesian Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. A plus side to these resorts is that they are located close to the parks, and some are within walking distance.
Another option is getting a Family Suite. They sleep 6. I personally like the Family Suites because there are a private bedroom and 2 bathrooms. With a family size of 6, two bathrooms are needed. You can find these Family Suites at 2 Value Resorts. Disney's Art of Animation and Disney's All-Star Music Resort. At Disney's All-Star Music Resort, these rooms have 1 Queen Bed, 1 twin-size sleeper chair, 1 Double-sized Sleeper Sofa, and 1 Twin-size sleeper Ottoman. They also have a kitchenette and the must needed 2 bathrooms. At Disney's Art of Animation, you get to pick a themed room. You can choose from Cars, The Lion King, and Finding Nemo. These Family Suites offer 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double-sized Sleeper Table, and 1 Double-sized Sleeper Sofa. We stayed at Disney's Art of Animation and stayed in a Cars themed Suite. The attention to detail was amazing, and we were able to use the Skyliner to get to Hollywood Studios and Epcot.
Another great option is the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. If you like Glamping, then these cabins are right up your alley. These cabins offer 1 Queen Size bed, Bunk Beds, and a Double-sized Sleeper Sofa. The Cabins also have a full-sized kitchen.
I also want to mention that some of the Deluxe Resorts have Villas where you can get a 1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms, or a 3 bedroom Villa. I don't know about you, but I might never leave the resort with one of these. Have some groceries delivered, unpack, sit back, and relax.
If you are a family of five or more, you will not have any problem finding accommodations at Disney World Resorts. Better yet, you won't have to get 2 connecting rooms. Of course, you can still get connecting rooms if you like, but it might be less expensive to get a Family Suite.
