Entertainment by Sea

Hey, did you hear? Cruising is back! Cruiselines are welcoming back their fully vaccinated guests, with other health precautions on board, and are so happy to start sailings again! While on board, please take advantage of everything included in your fare, especially all the options for entertainment!

Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships

Royal Caribbean is an excellent cruise line, and they also boast that they are the only ones to feature Tony Award-winning musicals on board their ships. Whether you want to dance along with Danny and Sandy while reliving all the nostalgia of Grease, dance, and jive with Abba during Mamma Mia, or perhaps you can't stop the beat for Hairspray, there is something for any lover of Broadway while on board. Once you have your cruise booked, your cruise planner would be happy to make your reservations for one of these shows. Many of them are included with your cruise.

In addition to musicals, you can also catch thrilling aerial shows like Live.Love.Legs, an aerial acrobatic show full of awe-inspiring tricks and special effects. Suppose acrobatics in just the air isn't thrilling enough. In that case, you can catch water shows at the Aquatheatre, where aerialists and acrobats combine their tricks with water elements, a musical soundtrack, and a story about an ancient ocean civilization in the original production of Oceanaria.

Many cruisers say that cruising is the best vacation as it allows you to experience so many different things all in one place. Well, that is true when you factor in that you could enjoy the beach during the day and then visit the ice skating rink at night! In this top-rated show, iSkate 2.0, you will be treated to great spins, double axles, and incredible leaps by incredibly talented performers.

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival also offers a wide variety of entertainment to ensure your cruise is both relaxing and memorable. If you prefer to keep it low-key, you will love the Dive-In Movie- where you can lounge on the pool deck or in the pool, with a big screen projection of a family favorite or even a date night genre. Depending on the season, you might also catch a big sporting event, and they even provide the popcorn.

If you enjoy live music, catch a show with PlayList Productions. This stage show brings music to life, recreating songs and soundtracks with dancing and special effects. Performances vary by ship, but with the variety offered, there is something for everyone in your group!

Or if you want to be part of the show, well, there is always Karaoke! Every ship has Karaoke, so take this opportunity to grab a microphone and take your shower performances to the public. And if you don't doOKl- who cares, you're on vacation! Better yet, if you have the moves, just not the voice, well, you can join in on the fun of Lip Sync Battle: Carnival. Just like the hit show on Paramount, you will get to battle against other contestants in lip-syncing, and you are provided with the costumes, props, choreography, and even backup dancers! If you win over the crowd, you get bragging rights and your picture with the famous Lip Sync Battle belt.

Disney Cruise Line

Disney is known for providing the best in entertainment for good reason. It's how they got started with their movies, and being immersively entertained is at the heart of all Disney experiences. Disney Cruise Line will not disappoint in its options either.

If you are on board the Magic, Wonder, Fantasy, or Dream, you have the chance to catch a live, broadway caliber theatre show in the Walt Disney Theatre. It's a luxurious theatre, modeled after the 1930's and 40's era, but equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and special effects and pyrotechnics. Reservations are required, so your story guide can make sure you pick the best time slot; with two shows a night, you can plan your show around your dinner as well! The plays performed vary by ship; for example, while onboard the Dream, you can see Beauty and the Beast, while the Wonder and Fantasy show Frozen, a Musical Spectacular. The Magic Features Tangled: The Musical and an original production Disney Dreams: An Enchanted Classic; a story all about believing in magic and features tons of your favorite characters.

Check out the Buena Vista Theatre on board the Magic, Wonder, Dream, and Fantasy if you prefer movies to shows. The theatre features plush and comfy chairs and the decadence of an almost forgotten era when the film was indeed an experience to behold. However, the theatre is entirely modern, with state-of-the-art projectors and features Disney Digital 3D, so you are part of the show!

You will have a pirate-themed dinner before joining characters on deck for a full-on Pirates of the Caribbean deck party. There will be a show, games, and magical surprises. If that isn't enough, the party will conclude with fireworks! And lastly, if you're not content to watch a show, all four ships feature the option for a Pirate Night!
