Top 5 Disney World Pools

It's Memorial Day Weekend! The official start of Summer. This weekend the pools in my neighborhood start to open. Unless you are at Walt Disney World where the pools are open all year round unless under refurbishment.

I don't know about you but my kids love the pools at Walt Disney World. We usually hit the parks early in the mornings then head back to the resort for lunch and some pool time. Then we close out the day at the parks.

I though I would kick the summer off with the Top 5 Disney World Pools. Over in my fun Facebook Group "Mickey ears, Dole Whips & 'Ohana" I did a poll on the top 10 Disney World Pools that I thought were the best. Only 5 made the list. So here they are.

5. Silver Creek Springs

This is the main pool at Wilderness Lodge. I would consider this one of the most relaxing pools because of the ambiance. The pool water is created by a natural spring that runs through the lobby of the hotel and trickles out into the pool. The pool is surrounded by pine trees and boulders with a view of the hotel's geyser and you can see Bay Lake in the distance. It also has a 67 foot waterslide that is built into the rocks. Not only is it for kids but there is a cold water whirlpool spa that adults might like. There is also a new play area for the kids.

4. Dig Site Pools

The Lost City of Cibola Pools and "Dig Site" area is located at Coronado Springs. This is one of the neatest pool areas I have seen. It features a 123 foot waterslide, a Mayan temple ruins, an arcade, a play area, and a 50 foot pyramid. If you are looking for some adult entertainment there is the largest Siesta's bar, a volleyball court, and the largest Walt Disney World hot tub that can hold up to 22 people.

This pool is shared by Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. This pool complex is huge. It is 3 acres in size and has a sandy bottom and a lazy river. There are so many likable things about this pool area that gives it a high number on our list. There is a 230 foot shipwrecked waterslide, tons of lounge chairs to call your own, many bridges and areas to explore. It also has one of the most amazing pool side bars.

2. Fuentes del Morro Pool

This pool is one of my personal favorites. It's located at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I love the pirate themed Spanish Colonial Fortress style with cannons. There is also a shipwrecked play area and two waterslides. For the adults there is a pool side bar. Bananba Cabana and Centertown Market is a short walk away. It's a perfect place to enjoy a non park day.

1. The Big Blue Pool

I was not surprised that this pool was ranked number one. It is my kids favorite pool. It is one of the largest pools at Walt Disney World located at Art of Animation. The kids love the under water music and "Finding Nemo" theme. There is also a schoolyard sprayground and a Squirt's Righteous Reef play area. They also has a small pool side bar for Mom and Dad. If you don't want to deal with all the crowds at this pool you can walk over to the cars area of the resort where it is much quieter. You can snag a Cozy Cone Cabana and relax.

That is our list for the Top 5 Walt Disney World pools. This list was based on the opinions of the members of Mickey Ears, Dole Whips & 'Ohana.
