Many good things have been happing this week pertaining to Walt Disney World. More specifically, what we can look forward to in 2024. Walt Disney World released this week that 2024 packages can be booked Starting May 31, 2023. However, that isn't all the news they release about what is coming back in 2024.
No More Park Reservations For Date-Based Tickets
Starting on Jan. 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. Finally, we are getting rid of those pesky park reservations. If you are wondering what date-based tickets are, they are standard ticket options we offer to guests for more than one-day park tickets or what is in a package. For Non-dated tickets, theme park reservations are still going to be required.
‘Good-To-Go Days’ For Annual Passholders.
In 2024, select days will be offered to Annual Passholders where they can visit Walt Disney World theme parks without needing a park reservation. This is in addition to the recent update where Passholders can visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. “Good-to-go” days may vary by park. They are also still limited to capacity and any Black-out Dates will still apply.
Disney Dining Plans Are Back
Disney dining plans are coming back as an option for those staying at Disney Resort hotels and purchase a vacation package starting with stays beginning Jan. 9, 2024. There are some changes to our beloved Dining Plan. Instead of three options Guests will be able to choose from only two options: Either the Quick Service Package or The Dining Package.
The Quick Service Package will include 2 Quick Service Meals per day and 1 snack per day. The Disney Dining Package will include 1 Quick Service Meal per day, 1 Table Service Meal per day, and 1 snack per day. These packages both include 1 alcoholic beverage for anyone over 21. You will also get the refillable mugs again with these packages.
Extended Park Time to Disney Resort Hotel Guests
If you are staying at a Disney Resort you are currently able to enter each park half an hour early and if you happen to be staying at a Deluxe Resort, on select nights they have extended evening hours. Those will continue for 2024.
Simplifying the Disney Genie+ experience
We all know how complicated Disney Genie+ service and individual lightning lane selections can be. It would be so much easier if we could plan before the day of our park visit. Don't fear, Disney is working on that. They have not released any specifics but they will let us know when they do.
